Starting and finishing at Brooklands Aerodrome, south of London, the 1911 Circuit of Britain involved 5 stages, with 12 scheduled stops. The 1,010 mile (1,625 km) course took competitors from the edge of the Scottish Highlands to Dartmoor, and from the Firth of Forth to the English Channel in their quest to win the £10,000 prize.
